so im gathering up everything i need for my 90k service, ill be doing my diffs and tranny alittle early so im calling to get pricing on the fluids. i just got off the phone with the dealer and theyre saying i need 8 qts of diff fluid, when in reality i need 5 (according to wkjeeps.com), and i will need 4 qts of tcase fluid, when it reality i will only need 2...
unreal... so they want me to blow another $70 on crap i dont need... stealership this.
-end rant-
Order directly from a wholesale mopar website so you don't have to pay for dealer markup.

couldnt find the fluids on there- but the tranny filters are cheaper on there by a few bucks,
You can order the fluids by searching by part number.... I don't have the part numbers on hand but I have them at home.

i got the part numbers off of wkjeeps- i typed them in with my year make and model and nothing came up
part numbers:
- tcase p/n 05016796AC
- diffs p/n 04874469
I have a bottle of the tcase fluid at home and will check the PN for you.
For diffs I use Amsoil so I'm no help there except for recommending to check the parts manuals that are posted.... I believe there's a link in sal's parts thread

ive been looking at amsoil and redline for my diffs as well- as for the tcase i know some people use that tractor hydraulic fluid for their tcase..
I used the Amsoil synthetic tractor fluid in my tcase. My last refill I used the mopar fluid because its basically the same price when ordered online.

contacted wholesale mopar and they dont ship or carry hazardous liquids, therefore they dont carry the gear oil or tcase fluid. hmm
matt- the amsoil tractor oil or whatever worked well in the tcase? i may just place an order through amsoil and run everything amsoil except the tranny fluid
I not only ordered the tcase fluid, I also ordered the power steering fluid.... both from an online mopar supplier. Ive ordered from a few different websites and don't have my email confirmation for that order anymore. ...
The Amsoil tcase fluid worked fine, but was only in there about 10k miles because my shift motor went crazy and locked up the tcase, so I changed the fluid after it was fixed and ended up using the mopar stuff since it was the same price and I still have a warranty (so if my tcase goes due to damage caused by the shift motor locking up, I want mopar fluid in there for the warranty claim)
OK I found your issue.... and I remember having this problem now too. You need to leave off the leading 0.
Go to mopar-wholesale.com
Search for Jeep part 5016796AC

thanks matt, any idea why the gear oils so damn expensive online?
Honestly I never looked..... maybe OEM gear oil is so expensive since almost no one uses it except for the dealers. Go to any other shop, or 99.999% of DIY'ers are going to use Amsoil, Mobile1, etc in their differentials.

LOL good point- either way that site is way cheaper than the dealer... i can order my tranny fluid, filters, tcase fluid, and powersteering fluid and have it shipped for $10 less than going to the dealer and gettinge verything but the power steering fluiid. thanks for the site!
